Grow the Movement

1. Share your knowledge with others
Visit our discussion board, share your stories, share your documents, help guide others in program development.
2. Send a letter to Governor Kulongoski and Superintendent Castillo
Both the Governor and the Superintendent have made "Every school a community school" one of their top goals. We need to encourage action on this important goal.
3. Send a note to local leaders
Mayors, chiefs of police, business leaders, clergy, and others will support the community education concept once they understand the benefits.
4. Sign our petition

5. Send Briefly to a friend
Our bi-weekly e-newsletter provides resourceful information to anyone with an interest in community education. Each edition includes information about job openings, available grants, and brief stories about how community education is making a difference in Oregon. It is hoped that Briefly will provide one avenue of connection between OCEA and others who are not only involved in community education but who also support our efforts.
6. Attend the OCEA conference
Come together with others who share your passion and are willing to share what they know to help you succeed.
7. Become a Member of OCEA
For a mere $45, you can support the one Oregon organization dedicated solely to the community education movement. You also receive access to technical assistance and other support in the bargain.
8. Encourage others to be a Friend of Community Education
The support of community leaders and others will provide the resources necessary to make community education programs a widespread reality.
