- Both the Governor and the Superintendent have made "Every school a community school" one of their top goals. We need to encourage action on this important goal.
- 3. Send a note to local leaders
- Mayors, chiefs of police, business leaders, clergy, and others will support the community education concept once they understand the benefits.
- 4. Sign our petition
- Add you name to the list of Oregon's community education supporters.
- 5. Send Briefly to a friend
- Our bi-weekly e-newsletter provides resourceful information to anyone with an interest in community education. Each edition includes information about job openings, available grants, and brief stories about how community education is making a difference in Oregon. It is hoped that Briefly will provide one avenue of connection between OCEA and others who are not only involved in community education but who also support our efforts.

- Come together with others who share your passion and are willing to share what they know to help you succeed.
- 7. Become a Member of OCEA
- For a mere $45, you can support the one Oregon organization dedicated solely to the community education movement. You also receive access to technical assistance and other support in the bargain.
- 8. Encourage others to be a Friend of Community Education
- The support of community leaders and others will provide the resources necessary to make community education programs a widespread reality.
- 9. Become a member of NCEA
- Support for community education is a huge issue in the nation's capital now. As a member, you have access to practical information, theoretical discussions and research, training, accreditation, and peer support.
- 10. Be a sponsor
- The $500 provided by sustaining members enhances our ability to shape public policy, provide technical assistance, and communicate our vital message.
